Lia Rothstein is a photographer and educator with BA and MFA degrees from Boston University. She has studied with Joyce Tennyson, John Reuter, and Katrin Eismann at the Maine Photographic Workshops and the International Center of Photography.

Rothstein's work has been exhibited in solo and group regional and national juried shows. In 2003 Lia received a juror's award (Dorothy Simpson Krause) in the Tech Art national juried exhibition sponsored by the Boston Cyberarts Festival. She was awarded a residency fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center for the month of January 2009.
Recent exhibitions have included "Red" at the Cambridge Art Association, Cambridge MA and "Elements" at the Panopticon Gallery in Boston. During summer 2008 her Interstices series was on display at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

Lia's images have been showcased in an international photography competition sponsored by Mazda Corporation of Japan (First prize) and she was one of the winners of the national Anything Goes Photography Competition sponsored by the Southern Vermont Art Center in 1993. Her photographs are in many private and public collections, including the Polaroid International Photography Collection.
Lia's photographs have been used on the covers of books published by Harvard University Press and the University Press of New England and her portraits of authors have been used by Harper Collins and numerous other publishing companies.
