"Interstices" will be exhibited at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH from June 4th through August 28th in the Rubin Glass Corridor.

I view photography as one of many printmaking methods. Blurring boundaries between what a photograph is and what it can be has been a lifelong interest of mine.

In this body of work I wanted to explore Interstices, or spaces that intervene between closely spaced things; breaks or gaps between something generally continuous.

By reinterpreting the normally continuous tones in some of the photographs, I’m trying to relate temporality and short spaces of time between events as desired aspects in my work.

In addition to the actual separations between parts of the images, I wanted to experiment with the connectivity between image-making methods, abstract qualities of photography, and stasis versus movement in nature and within a variety of relationships, elements and environments.

The word photography means “drawing with light” and I’m interested in exploring the sense of movement inherent in graphic representation while playing with both the potential flatness and simultaneous sense of depth within a photographic image.
