“Luminous Bond” exhibition
November/December 2025 - Through December 12th, I’ll be exhibiting some encaustic work in Chicago in a collaborative exhibition with FusedChicago titled “Luminous Bond”.
“Hive Mind” exhibition
September 2025 - In September I’ll be exhibiting encaustic and suminagashi work in New York City at the Atlantic Gallery in an exhibit titled “Hive Mind” along with other members of New England Wax. The exhibition is September 9-27th with an opening reception on Saturday, September 13th from 3-5pm. Many of the exhibiting artists will be in attendance.
Forest Biomaterials Symposium
August 2025 - I exhibited my sculptural work with biomaterials at the Forest Biomaterials Symposium Week at the University of Maine, Orono, in late August.
Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum Exhibition
June 2025 - I participated in an international show in Tokyo that took place in June at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, an incredible experience!
Forces of Nature exhibition
July 2024 - The Forces of Nature exhibition opened July 26th at AVA Gallery in Lebanon, NH. I’m showing a large installation piece, “As Above, So Below” made of biodegradable biomaterials. I’ve been working on this for almost a year and am excited to see this project come to fruition! The other exhibiting artists - Deb Pressman, Marina Thompson, and Stephanie Roberts-Camello - and I had an informal discussion of our work on July 27th. Detailed information here.
Three summer exhibitions
Summer 2024 - I am also busy getting work ready for an exhibit in Wellfleet, MA scheduled for early summer and an exhibition at AVA Gallery in Lebanon, NH scheduled for July/August.
In addition, my work will be shown in Germany this summer as part of a Transatlantic Fusion exhibition involving European wax artists who were paired with American ones for a joint project. The exhibit will be in Schleusenhaus Stade near Hamburg from July 7-August 25th. Contact me for more details.

Guest artist and interview
December 2022 - This has been a busy year with teaching, exhibiting, and presenting at various venues. Please see my full resume, linked in the About section, for details of recent activities. I was a featured guest artist for the Cold Wax Academy with Rebecca Crowell and Jerry McLaughlin and showcased in The Woven Tale Press publication early in the year.
BMAC names Lia Rothstein as 2023 Climate Change Artist in Residence
December 2022 - I am very happy to announce that I have been awarded the 2023 Climate Change residency at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center! I am extremely excited about this opportunity.
Book covers feature my photographs
December 2021/January 2022 - My photographs have been featured on the covers of three books of poetry by Carol Westberg. The latest book, Ice Lands, was published in late 2021/early 2022. You can read more about it here. Books are available for purchase.
